I-Tip Hair Extensions — Care & Maintenance

Proper care helps maintain the shine, softness, and lifespan of I-Tip extensions while protecting the natural hair.

1. Brushing

Brush gently 2–3 times a day using an extension-friendly brush.
Start from the ends and gradually work upward.
Hold the hair near the beads while brushing to avoid pulling.

2. Washing

Wash gently with sulfate-free, extension-friendly shampoo.
Massage the scalp carefully without rubbing or twisting the beads.
Apply conditioner mainly to the mid-lengths and ends, avoiding the attachment area.

3. Drying

Gently squeeze out excess water—don't rub with a towel.
Avoid going to bed with wet extensions.
Blow-dry the roots/beads thoroughly on a low or medium heat setting.

4. Heat Styling

Always use a heat-protection product.
Keep excessive heat away from the beads.
Avoid frequent high-temperature styling to extend the life of the hair.

5. Products to Avoid

Avoid heavy oils, silicone-heavy products, and greasy treatments directly on the beads.
Avoid products containing harsh chemicals that can weaken the attachment.

6. Sleeping

Make sure the hair is completely dry before sleeping.
Gently braid the hair or tie it in a loose, low ponytail.
Use a silk/satin pillowcase to reduce friction and tangling.

7. Swimming

Apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner before swimming.
Tie the hair into a loose braid or ponytail.
Rinse thoroughly with fresh water after swimming.
Avoid prolonged exposure to chlorine and salt water.

8. Maintenance

I-Tips generally require professional maintenance every 6–10 weeks, depending on hair growth.
Have the beads professionally removed, repositioned, or replaced.
Never pull or remove the extensions yourself.
